Drone Special Operations
Insitu has been awarded a $40.7 million U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) contract for drones.
The Department of Defense contract announcement only said that the sole-source indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity contract is for "Mid-Endurance Unmanned Aircraft Systems (MEUAS 1.5-B) intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance services."
"This undefinitize action," according to the DoD, "is necessary to prevent interruption of ongoing services at multiple locations worldwide until a follow-on contract can be competitively awarded."
The contract includes a six-month base year and two three-month options.
